Michael Kohn, a California native, is a freelance writer for the Associated Press and BBC's East Asia Today program. He has contributed articles to the New York Times, San Francisco Chronicle and Baltimore Sun. Michael has recently taken up travel writing and has updated and written guides for Lonely Planet, Rough Guides, Odyssey and Fodors to various regions including India, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, China and the American Midwest.
Helene Goupil, editor of InsideOut Travel (www.insideoutmag.com), has flown around the world twice, worked in Japan, Thailand, Fiji, the Caribbean, Canada, Vietnam, and Europe. She has contributed to art-SITES San Francisco, Guava Magazine and the Kyoto Visitor's Guide.
Mark Hintzke is the founder and Managing Director of the San Francisco, non-profit, Cultural Restoration Tourism Project (CRTP). Mark is a scholar on Buddhist ethics and how they can be applied to development practices. He has published articles in newspapers and magazines on Buddhism, Mongolian History and Homelessness in the United States. Mark has been the subject of several interviews for radio, television and documentary film.
Molly McCluskey A former marketing executive turned outdoor educator, Molly has worked with troubled youth and as a volunteer park ranger in Arches National Park in Utah. She has written on topics including relationships, health and politics, and her work has appeared in Gannett newspapers, Monmouth Magazine and the nationally distributed independent magazine, Clamor. She currently works for Save-the-Redwoods League in San Francisco.
Dave Douglas: In 2001 Dave hung up his lucrative corporate hat within a top business consulting firm to co-found Off the Rails - an adventure travel company with a twist. Creating a "travel-tribe" of like-minded people, Off the Rails taps into the group's collective knowledge gained from years of working, living and traveling abroad to distill the "best of the best" of what a country has to offer.
Devan Miller Mentors Bay Area youth in art, culture and nature studies in association with ArtSeed.org He traveled extensively in Tuva in 2003 studying khoomei, the ancient art of throatsinging under Mongolian and Tuvan Masters. Devan is working with individuals and organizations toward the creation of a Central Asian Cultural Center in the Bay Area.
